Hector ALS Challenge March 28, 2026
Hector ALS Challenge – a folk festival for all skiers!
Hector ALS Challenge is an unforgettable day on the snow where everyone is invited! During the day, a large charity race is arranged where one against one skiers ski parallel to each other. There is room for both young and old – regardless of how much experience you have of standing on a pair of skis. It is the joy of skiing that is in focus! During the day, you also have the chance to challenge the world champion, and the initiator of the event, Sara Hector, to see how you stack up against an Olympic gold medalist. In the finish area, you will also find several sponsors who are involved and contribute to a magical day where we all have the same goal – to fight ALS with joy.
The participation fee goes directly to the research for ALS.
Registration is done on site.
Sara Hector, initiator of the fundraiser
With an Olympic gold medal and several World Cup titles under her belt, Sara Hector is not only one of Sweden's most prominent alpine stars but also a committed advocate for ALS research. For several years, her mother has been fighting ALS, which became the driving force behind her desire to make a difference. Sara's personal relationship with the disease led her to choose to start the Hector ALS Challenge in 2019, a parallel slalom competition that aims to support research into the disease. Since its inception, we have collectively raised over 1 million kronor.

Hector Cup – racing competition for ski clubs
In conjunction with the Hector ALS Challenge, alpinists will also compete to stand at the top of the podium during the Hector Cup. Sara Hector, Gävle Alpina, Kungsbergets Alpina and Kungsberget are inviting associations for a weekend filled with skiing joy during competitions in both parallel slalom and giant slalom.
Hector ALS Challenge and Hector Cup is a joint event carried out in collaboration between Sara Hector, Kungsberget Alpine, Gavle Alpine and Kungsbergets Fritidsanläggning, where the parties together contribute to creating a well-organized and engaging event to benefit ALS research
