More skiing, more activities and better flows

Ahead of the winter of 2026/27, we continue to develop Kungsberget both on and off the slopes. We are increasing lift capacity, improving several slopes, creating new activities and developing both restaurants and shops.

The goal is simple: an even better skiing experience and smoother days for the whole family.

20 percent higher capacity in Sydbackarna

Sydbackarna is one of Kungsberget's most popular ski areas, with good variety and several nice slopes.

It is also a part of the facility where, on the busiest days, there can be a bit more of a wait than in many other places.

Before winter, one of the South lifts will be replaced by a modern tow lift, while the other will be supplemented with more jumpers.

Overall, the lift capacity on the south side increases by approximately 20 percent.

It makes an already popular ski area better equipped for high traffic and provides a smoother flow through the southern part of the ski area.

The restaurant back gets a completely new profile

The restaurant hill is being rebuilt and will be both wider and better profiled for the winter.

At the same time, we are bringing together several of Kungsberget's activities in the same place. Here you will find, among other things:

• new Helly Hansen Self-timer course
• Big Airbag
• Björnbusecupen

This makes Restaurangbacken a place for both skiing, competition and challenges together with family and friends.

Gammelbacken is being widened by 15 meters

Gammelbacken is an important part of the Kungsberget ski area and before winter the slope is being widened by the entire 15 meters.

This provides more space on the slope and a significantly better riding experience, especially during periods when many guests use the slope at the same time.

At the same time, the snow system in Gammelbacken is being improved to create even better conditions for even and good snow throughout the season.

Prinsbacken is getting better – right in the middle of the housing estate

Prinsbacken will have an improved slope profile, better access and a denser snow system with more snow cannons.

The slope is ski in/ski out for a large part of Kungsberget's cottages and is therefore particularly important for many of our guests.

For many, the ski day begins and ends here. For families with children and others who like to stay close to their accommodation, Prinsbacken can also be the base for large parts of the day.

The changes will make the slope smoother, easier to ski and provide even better conditions for good snow throughout the season.

Digital information on the slopes – and keep an eye on the lift queues

Ahead of winter, Kungsberget is investing in digital screens in the ski area, where we can provide quick and up-to-date information directly during the ski day.

At the same time, we are introducing measurement of the queues at the lifts. The information will be displayed both on the web and on the digital screens in the area.

This makes it easier to see where the load is highest and lowest and choose a route through the ski area accordingly. For us, it also gives us better opportunities to control information and flows during the day – with the goal of creating an even smoother skiing experience.

More activities outside of skiing

New activity room at Karins

The new part of Karins Burgeria will be an activity room.

Here, family and friends can continue to socialize and compete even after the skis have come off. Activities include:

• miniature golf
• cornhole
• air hockey

A new option for those who want to continue the day together even off the slopes.

New Helly Hansen Self-timer course

One of the new winter activities is Helly Hansen Self-timer course in Restaurant Hill.

Here you can challenge yourself, your family or friends and add a little extra competitive spirit to your skiing.

The self-timer track will be part of the new activity area around Restaurangbacken together with Big Airbag and Björnbusecupen.

Smoother breaks and more space

Pizza buffet for lunch at Sofia's

Pizza is a real Kungsberget favorite.

During the winter of 2025/26, approximately 16,500 pizzas at Sofia's Pizzeria. During a single Saturday, week 9, the entire 603 pizzas.

A pizza buffet will therefore be introduced during lunch in the winter.

This makes it easier to accommodate many hungry ski guests at the same time and creates a faster and smoother lunch for those who want to get back out on the slopes.

New head chef and continued development of the food

Kungsberget's new head chef will start on November 2nd.

This will be the start of continued work on menus, quality and dining experiences in our restaurants.

The shop is getting bigger

Kungsberget's shop is being expanded with approximately 30 square meters before winter.

The expansion provides more space for product range and creates a more spacious and better store experience for our guests.
